The following documents are research papers relating to various language topics such as language learning, early
childhood language learning, NCLB (No Child Left Behind ) policy and its impact on bilingualism education,
political discourse analysis, an ethnography on cultural barriers in language learning in Hawaii, an ethnography on
teacher engagement in an ESL classroom in Hawaii, and an analysis of the history, validity and wash backs of

2002. This research also details some of the struggles teachers face such as engagement, motivation, and even at
often times, frustration and pressure due to yearly test results required by the NCLB law and its influence on their
